During a trip to the breathtaking Secrets Cap Cana Resort & Spa in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, I had a conversation with a couple about some other trips I had taken. While trying to recall certain details I found my memory to be frighteningly bad. So, I decided to start a little travel diary for any trips I take in the future in hopes of being able to better capture details, and act as a sort of personal review/reminder.
So let’s begin.
As I mentioned our chosen retreat to escape the cold winter for a week was the exquisite Secrets Cap Cana Resort & Spa. This was an elegant, serene, and somewhat secluded 5 star haven designed exclusively for adults. The resort grounds were meticulously maintained. Below is a view from the outdoor main lobby overlooking the pool and beach area, and this spot is the backdrop to many pictures.
Although we spent very little time in the room, it was always very clean. And the bed was comfortable and cozy.
The dining experiences.. it’s hard to find fault. The culinary offerings cater to everyone, with an extensive buffet available throughout the day. Additionally, no reservations were needed for the delightful dinner choices at various restaurants. Unfortunately, I don’t have many food pictures but my favorite was the French and Italian.
And lastly the beach. I unfortunately cannot speak for the pool, as I am 100% a beach person. But the beach was STUNNING. Its turquoise waters and ivory sands were captivating. My only wish was to have been able to see the waters still, I can only imagine how incredible it would have looked.
Summing up, the resort and its staff left a remarkable impression. This trip was a perfect tranquil escape from the cold frigid winter.
